About Tim Gandee

Recruiting in packaging is not something I stumbled into. It is something I was raised around, built my career around, and eventually made my own.

I am the Founder and Executive Recruiter of Packaging Recruiter Pros, a boutique search firm dedicated exclusively to the packaging industry. Since launching the firm in 2021, I have focused on helping packaging companies identify, engage, and recruit the kind of talent that does not typically respond to job postings.

My work centers on highly targeted search within rigid packaging, flexible packaging, folding cartons, corrugated, automation, polymers, protective packaging, cold chain, contract packaging, fulfillment, and related manufacturing sectors. I work with companies that need more than resumes. They need market insight, competitive intelligence, and access to people who are already performing inside their niche.

Recruiting is also part of my family story.

I grew up watching my father, Bob Gandee, build a recruiting business from the ground up. He taught me early that business is about relationships, trust, persistence, and doing the work long after the easy options are gone. He later wrote a book called Headwinds, a fitting title for the lessons he lived and passed down: stay steady, keep moving, and build something that lasts.

Those lessons shaped the way I recruit today.

Behind every search is a company trying to grow, a leader trying to solve a problem, and a person considering a major career decision. My job is to understand all three. The best placements are not transactional. They are built through timing, trust, listening, and a deep understanding of the market.

Outside of recruiting, I have always been a builder and creator.

I am an independent reggae musician who records and performs under the name Gingermon, writing music rooted in rhythm, reflection, and real-life storytelling. I am also a named co-inventor on a granted United States design patent for a medical IV line management device, created to help organize and separate critical lines in clinical and trauma settings.

At home, that same builder’s mindset carries into a different kind of work. My family and I maintain a homestead with a 50' x 50' garden, chickens, and more than 30 fruit trees. It keeps me grounded. It reminds me that meaningful things take time, attention, and consistency.

That is how I view recruiting as well.

You plant the right seeds. You nurture relationships. You stay persistent through the headwinds. And over time, the right opportunities grow.
